MOA introduces young people to the outdoors, by assisting them in finding life-long interests and activities.  This is another option to relieve stress and anxiety instead of gangs, drugs, sex, alcohol, and other related choices.  All the while building mentoring relationships and demonstrating an honorable lifestyle.

These activities serve as a therapeutic recreation for prevention / intervention in at-risk and troubled youth.  These youth will learn to appreciate themselves for their strengths, skills and power to set and pursue meaningful goals.  They also learn and demonstrate personal skills of communication and gain a clear understanding of their role as a meaningful contributor to their families, schools, and communities.  The MOA staff strives to encourage the youth in areas of self-esteem, responsibility, motivation, self-reliance, accountability, and decision making.
