Living the Life - YOU CHOOSE

In John 10:10 (NIV) Jesus says “the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy but I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” The amplified says, “to have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”

How many followers of Jesus Christ are really “Living the Life” He came to give us?  Sadly, I would venture to say it is a very small percentage.  In Matthew 7:13 Jesus tells us “wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road leads to life, and only a FEW find it.”

I am not sure about you, but I desire to enter the narrow gate and “Live the Life” Jesus came to give me.

Part of me wonders if people think living that abounding, to the full until it overflows life is to good to be true, like a fairy tale.  Do people question, does Jesus really want me “to have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”?

So I question, what constrains people from entering the narrow gate or what is so desirable in the world that causes people to choose the wide gate and broad road that leads to destruction?

Have we forgotten Jesus’ words in Luke 9:23-25, “if anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.  For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.  What good is it for a man to gain the whole world and yet lose or forfeit his very self?” So, I say, “NO” to this world and all of its desires and I say “YES” to the LIFE Jesus wants me to live.

Are we (people in general) really trying to hold onto our own lives because we think we can do it better? Don’t we know His life is better than our own?  I say, “YES” to denying myself and following Jesus.  I am purposing to let the Word of God shape who I am, not this world or the worlds system.

There is a remnant, an elite percentage that choose to let the Word of God shape their lives.  A FEW, that choose to loose their lives for Jesus.  A FEW, that are living a life “in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”

I Shelby Tyler Nold, CHOOSE to “Live the Life”.  What about you?
